When we look into the Vastu Shastra of a house, the first thing we analyze is its facing. The whole Vastu plan of a house is made according to the facing of the home.

In this blog, we will discuss the east-facing House according to Vastu. But first, we must understand what we mean by “east-facing house” or “facing of a house in general.”

How to Know About the Facing of a House?

In simple words, the facing of a house is the direction in which you are when you step out from your home’s main entrance at the road in front of you. For a East facing house, when you stand at the entrance of the house to go towards the road in front of you, you should face towards the direction from which the sun rises, that is, the East direction. This is the general case, but in some cases, the house is tilted to some degree, and the house is not exactly east-facing, but it can be a southeast or northeast-facing house, which changes the entire calculations of the directions for the Vastu of the house. So, this can either be checked if you use the compass carefully, or you can consult a Vastu expert for knowing the exact directional mapping of your house.

Why does Vastu consider a house that faces east to be auspicious?

Even though there is no specific direction that is either auspicious or unfavorable in Vastu Shastra, according to Vastu Shastra, people still favor homes that face east. This is because the sun rises toward the east, and its rays are the most potent source of good energy and nutrients in the morning. Your home will benefit from the sun’s rays entering in the morning if it faces east, which has several health advantages and improves the atmosphere.

East-facing houses benefit business owners and marketers, according to Vastu.

Now let us look at the correct placements or a plan of East facing house as per Vastu.

East Facing House: Main Entrance

As we already discussed, the facing of a house has some role in Vastu, but it has a minor role because more or less facing in all four directions is considered good, as per Vastu Shastra. What plays a major role in determining the Vastu as per the facing of the house is the main entrance of the house.

A house has 32 main entrances, each with a different attribute. It can face North, South, East, or West. So, each direction has eight entrances. To ensure this gridding is correct, seek help from a Vastu expert. Now, we also have eight entrances for east-facing houses.

List of attributes of each of these entrances:

Entrance Ruling Deity Nature of Entrance
E1    ShikhiDanger of fire
E2  ParjanyaBirth of daughters
E3  JayantaA lot of wealth
E4  MahendraGetting favor from ruling authorities
E5  Surya Tendency to cause heated emotions
E6  SatyaLack of integrity
E7  Bhrish Cruelty
E8  Antriksh Robbery/theft

So the entrances of E3 and E4 that are governed by Jayant and Mahendra are considered the best for east facing home plan as per Vastu Shastra.

Rest all entrances are not considered good as per Vastu Shastra. But if you have an existing house, and you have an entrance in the zones apart from E3 and E4, you must consult a Vastu consult for its remedies.
